Fun! Talked with a large number of people I knew and met a lot of new people. Went to some of the programming. Attended the 60th birthday party for WSFA, and realized that the last WSFA meeting I attended (back when I was home summers from college) was more than 40 years ago. Found a copy of the new 2007 YBFH and took it to Ellen Datlow at the autograph table. Went to parties. Didn't find the Scotch party, but on my way to my room I discovered it: next door.
This morning, everything in the hotel seeming much quieter than yesterday, crowds faded away. I caught the Metro to Dulles (just under two hours total) and the non-stop to San Jose.
Now I am home. I have taken out the garbage and recycling and am about to go out and stomp snails. It's good to be back.
